The 5th Asia Pacific Trading Summit
ASIA - The changing trading environment & how it affects YOU
Over 350 buy-side, sell-side and vendor delegates attended The 5th Asia Pacific
Trading Summit 2007 on 10th May in Singapore. The event's industry-wide support was further
illustrated by the 30 conference sponsors and 19 Exhibitors, who represented the leading global
financial institutions and solution vendors.
As with previous years, the speakers and panelists were a dynamic group of industry
leaders, (including Founders and CEOs of their respective businesses), from some of the most successful
and innovative firms in the global electronic trading arena. Their presence ensured lively panel
discussions that clearly highlighted the different buy-side, broker, vendor, ECN and exchange
perspectives. The event generated a lot of participation from the audience with the real-time
interactive survey acting as a catalyst for further debate amongst the panelists and speakers.
The exhibition zone proved to be a very popular destination as delegates crowded the
booths, enquiring about the latest industry solutions available. Admittedly, it was not all work, as
some exhibitors further enhanced the exhibition area by employing some particularly beautiful assistants
to hand out premiums, while others attracted a lot of attention with their virtual reality video games.
By popular request, the FPL branded conference backpacks distributed at last year's conference, again
made an appearance this year, only in a bigger and better design. Needless to say, all delegates snapped
them up very quickly, to the extent that the extra 'reserves' ran out even quicker than last year!
The summit ended with a cocktail reception at the Paulaner Braauhaus, which made for
a great finale to the day's networking opportunities. It provided delegates with the chance to meet up
with speakers, FPL representatives and other delegates. Of course, it was made even better by the great
array of the finest food and, naturally, the freshly brewed German beers.
To protect our climate, we have made this summit a CarbonNeutral ® event.
