Tamal Bandyopadhyay

Tamal Bandyopadhyay is a bestselling author, an award-winning columnist, and a keen student of the Indian banking sector for over two decades. His weekly column `Banker's Trust' is widely read for its incisive analysis and informed opinion.

He is currently Consulting Editor with Business Standard and Senior Adviser to Jana Small Finance Bank Ltd.

One of the key members of the team that set up the financial daily Mint, Tamal was an adviser on strategy at Bandhan Bank Ltd, the first microfinance company to transform itself into a universal bank in India.

His latest book 'HDFC Bank 2.0: From Dawn to Dightal' was released in July. Nandan Nilekani has written the foreword to this book which captures the biggest self-made disruptions in Indian banking by a bank to stay relevant.

His previous book `From Lehman to Demonetization: A Decade of Disruptions, Reforms and Misadventures’ was a nonfiction bestseller as were his three other books on finance--`A Bank for The Buck', `Sahara: The Untold Story' and `Bandhan: The Making of a Bank.

Incidentally, a Rs200 crore defamation case was slapped on him by the Sahara group to stop the publication of his book on shadow banking.

Tamal is one of the contributors to the `Oxford Handbook on Indian Economy', edited by Kaushik Basu, and ‘Making of New India: Transformation Under Modi Government’, edited by Bibek Debroy.

He won the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism (commentary and interpretative writing) in 2017.

Global professional network Linkedin nominated him one among top ten influential voices in India in 2018 and 2017 and one of the top 10 writers in finance globally for 2016 and 2015.

She has been speaker at IFLR India Capital Markets, FIX India Trading conference and similar other events. Vaisshali has been invited to give leadership talk to the students of Master of Business Finance at Xavier University, Bhubaneshwar and has the privilege to train newly recruited SEBI officers on capital market topics.

Vaisshali is a Conduct champion for the securities services business for the bank and also shoulders Volker champion responsibilities.

Vaisshali holds master’s degree in commerce from Mumbai University with business administration qualification from Symbiosis, Pune having specialization in Finance. She has completed executive programme in strategic marketing & sales management from IIM, Rohtak.

Vaisshali is very active in CSR initiatives at BNP Paribas as well as associated with NGOs dealing in child education.

Damian Bierman

Damian Bierman is Head of Asia-Pacific for FactSet's Portfolio Management & Trading business unit. He is responsible for its day-to-day operations and oversees the teams responsible for delivering the full suite of PMT products and services across the region, including Portware EMS. Damian joined Portware in 2007, opening the firm's office in Hong Kong and establishing its presence in the region.

Damian is an active member of the FIX Trading Community, currently serving as Co-Chair of the Asia-Pacific Technical Subcommittee. He has been a mainstay of the organization's Asia-Pacific presence for the past 15 years, playing an active role in promoting the adoption of FIX across the region.

Prior to Portware, Damian ran FIX Services in APAC for NYFIX, setting up its Hong Kong office in 2004. Damian joined Javelin Technologies in New York in 2000, implementing its Appia FIX engine technology at numerous buy- and sell-side institutions globally.

Previously, Damian held a research position at Carnegie Mellon Research Institute in Pittsburgh, PA, working on the DOT-funded Driver Drowsiness Detection & Countermeasures study, as well as a study of expert landmine detection skill for the US Army.

Kumar Goradia

Kumar Goradia is presently associated with a couple of India onshore start-ups. Prior to that, he looked after business development and general operations of the Tower Research Capital group in India & the Middle East. Kumar was the country markets technology manager at JP Morgan India, and has also managed the equity, listed derivatives, and operations technology initiatives of Citigroup Global Markets in India.

Earlier he looked after application technology, algorithmic trading, quantitative studies, and India access products for the Institutional business of MF Global India, as well as treasury technology at ICICI Bank. Kumar began his markets career at a private onshore brokerage, where at various points ran arbitrage trading, B2B franchise sales & solutions, clearing, risk management, compliance, and operations.

Kumar has served on the BSE's technology committee, and is currently the Co-Chair of the India Working Group, FIX Trading Community. Kumar has a B.E. from the University of Bombay, and an M.S. from Virginia Tech in the United States.

Julien Hage

He had a successful career at BT Radianz and built and led Telstra’s Financial Services division. Matthew also holds long-term working relationships with some of the worlds’ largest financial institutions and within the high-frequency trading community.
